World Diabetes Day – November 14th

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, a time when communities across the country team up to bring attention to diabetes and its impact on millions of Americans.  World Diabetes Day takes place each year on November 14th which is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922. It was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes.

For 19 years –Dancing for Diabetes has been spreading awareness of the impact that Type 1 Diabetes has on nearly 1.25 million American children and adults – raising funds to find a cure and inspiring those impacted to live a healthy lifestyle. In honor of World Diabetes Day on November 14th, Dancing for Diabetes activated downtown Winter Garden with store front signage, social media promotion and other exciting promotions. Thank to you The Bulk Pantry, Doxology and all of our partners for making this a special day.
