World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day takes place each year on November 14th which is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922. It was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, a time when communities across the country team up to bring attention to diabetes and its impact on millions of Americans.
